Marbella’s best beaches
February 16, 2026DiscoverLeisure

Marbella isn’t just a luxurious destination full of yachts and beach clubs, its 27 km of coastline offers sandy escapes for every kind of beach lover. From trendy urban beaches to calm natural coves, here are some must-visit spots.

Playa de Nagüeles
Set along Marbella’s iconic Golden Mile, Playa de Nagüeles is one of the most refined beaches in the area. The sand is soft and meticulously maintained, and the sea is usually calm, making it ideal for swimming.
This beach is known for its upscale atmosphere, with some of Marbella’s most famous beach clubs and restaurants nearby. Expect comfortable sunbeds, attentive service and a stylish crowd. It’s the perfect spot if you want a relaxed beach morning followed by a long lunch or sunset cocktail.

Playa de La Fontanilla
Just a short walk from Marbella’s old town and marina, Playa de La Fontanilla is the city’s most popular urban beach. Its wide stretch of golden sand and gentle waves make it especially appealing for families and casual beachgoers.
The lively promenade behind the beach is lined with cafés, ice-cream spots, restaurants and shops, so everything you need is within reach. Thanks to its central location and easy access, this beach stays vibrant year-round.

Bounty beach (Playa del Cable)
Commonly known as Bounty beach, Playa del Cable has a youthful, energetic feel. Located east of the marina, it’s a long and spacious beach with golden sand and a more relaxed, alternative vibe.
It’s a hotspot for beach volleyball, paddle sports and social gatherings, with affordable chiringuitos and music often playing in the background. The atmosphere is friendly and lively without feeling overcrowded.

Playa de Cabopino & Artola Dunes

For a more natural escape, head east to Cabopino Beach and Playa de Artola, one of the most beautiful areas along Marbella’s coast. Backed by protected sand dunes and pine trees, this beach feels far removed from the city’s buzz.
The water here is clear and often calmer, and parts of the beach are quieter and less developed. There’s even a small naturist section for those who prefer a freer-spirited environment.

Playa de Río Verde
Located between Marbella and Puerto Banús, Playa de Río Verde combines relaxation with a subtle touch of glamour. The beach is known for its calm waters and well-kept surroundings, making it ideal for a laid-back day by the sea.
Its proximity to luxury boutiques, restaurants and cafés means you can easily switch between sunbathing and seaside dining. It’s quieter than Banús itself, but still close to the action.

Real de Zaragoza

One of the longest beaches in Marbella, Real de Zaragoza, is a favourite among locals. Even during high season, its length means there’s usually plenty of space to spread out and unwind.
The atmosphere here is traditional and unpretentious, with excellent chiringuitos serving fresh seafood and espetos (grilled sardines). It’s ideal if you want an authentic Andalusian beach experience without the crowds.

A final stop along the shore:

From glamorous beach clubs to untouched dunes, Marbella’s coastline offers far more than just sun and sand. Whether you’re sipping cocktails on the Golden Mile, enjoying a family day by the promenade, or escaping to quieter shores, each beach has its own character and charm. No matter your travel style, Marbella invites you to slow down, soak up the Mediterranean light, and discover your perfect spot by the sea.
